OG&E a national leader in customer relationships

OKLAHOMA CITY —Oklahoma Gas & Electric today announced Market Strategies International/Cogent Reports has named OG&E a Utility Customer Champion in its recently announced Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™ study. OG&E achieved the Utility Customer Champion designation for the fourth consecutive year. OG&E ranks sixth among all electric utilities across the country and third in the South region. The ranking is based on interviews with nearly 60,000 residential customers of electric, natural gas and combination utilities.

“We’re proud to again receive recognition from MSI/Cogent as a Utility Customer Champion, and we are continuing our efforts to increase customer engagement and meeting or exceeding rising customer expectations,” said Vice President Sales & Marketing Ken Grant. “Most recently we launched a new customer notification platform, myOGEalerts, to provide more information to customers during an outage. Even though the average customer has power approximately 99.97 percent of the year, we know that providing more outage information improves their experience and satisfaction.”

Soon, Grant added, myOGEalerts will provide billing and payment options, including text to pay.

“We have also continued our commitment to public service – through volunteerism, with nearly 20,000 employee volunteer hours this year; through financial support with sponsorships and donations, including grants to teachers across the service area; and through economic development efforts, which bring jobs and revenue to OG&E’s communities.”

In a recent press release announcing the list of Utility Customer Champions, Cogent Reports said the study reflects “...utilities building the industry’s strongest customer engagement through superior service, brand and product experiences...rating higher than industry peers on being ‘well-managed companies.’”

“The bottom line is Customer Champions are superior at cost-effectively managing their customer operations and marketing efforts,” said Chris Oberle, a senior vice president at Market Strategies International.

This is the fourth year for the study, which benchmarks and trends 128 electric, natural gas and combination utilities.
