WHAT:

OG&E is hosting an Electric Vehicle (EV) Ride & Drive event to educate the public about electric vehicle technology with a free test drive experience this weekend. Attendees will get the chance to check out OG&E’s electric vehicles, learn more about the technology and get behind the wheel for a test drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 7 at the OSU-OKC Precision Driving Training Facility. The event is free and open to the public. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance must be presented to drive. COVID-19 safety precautions will be taken. Masks are required inside the facility and while riding or driving the vehicles. Breakfast, lunch, and T-shirts will be available at the event while supplies last. |

WHY: |
OG&E is committed to environmental stewardship. It is increasing its fleet electrification to reduce its company vehicle emissions 60 percent by 2030. The utility is accomplishing this goal by replacing traditional vehicles with electric models to reduce carbon emissions, and it is replacing all light-duty vehicles (LDVs) with EVs by 2030.
