OG&E brightens holiday at Bethany Children’s Center with $50,000 rebate check

OKLAHOMA CITY—Thanks to its participation in OG&E’s commercial energy efficiency program, The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany recently received a rebate check for more than $50,000 from OG&E. (See attached picture).

OG&E offers the rebates as an incentive for businesses to transition facilities to more energy-efficient practices. At the Children’s Center, OG&E made energy-saving recommendations and completed several projects including LED lighting in a new parking garage, and throughout the center’s new rehabilitation tower. The LED lighting uses less wattage than traditional incandescent lighting.

“The lighting in the new tower has controls to dim or automatically turn lights off when not in use, making them cost- and energy-efficient,” said Kathleen O’Shea, OGE Energy Corp. Manager of Corporate Communications. “As a result, The Children’s Center not only received a large rebate for the energy-saving measures they implemented, but also will benefit from ongoing cost savings on their monthly electric bills,” she said.

Children’s Center CEO Albert Gray said he appreciates OG&E’s long-term support of the center and its mission. “OG&E has supported The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital for many years through grants to the hospital and also through the rebate program,” Gray said. “We are grateful for what they do to enrich our community.”

The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is an innovative leader in offering medical services that can only be found in the region while also providing a promising pathway from hospital to home.  The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is more than a place where children come to heal.  They come to learn and grow in a supportive, caring environment.
